We are pleased to announce that Minnesota Monthly has selected Kathy Gordon as a recipient of their “Heart of the Event” award.  This award was created by Minnesota Monthly to feature various individuals within the Twin Cities who are essential to the success of an organization’s fundraising event.  Minnesota Monthly is honoring eight such individuals in their upcoming issues.  

Upon hearing of her nomination and selection, Kathy stated, “Wow.  I'm speechless.  I think you know that this is a charity of the heart for me.  But I also believe that every one of us puts heart into making our events successful.”   Kathy Gordon and the Mobility for Independence Celebrity Fundraiser (Banquet & Golf Tournament) will be featured in Minnesota Monthly’s August issue, which will be in newsstands in July.         

Kathy Gordon, has been a volunteer and Board Member of Mobility for Independence since its inception.  She has worked tirelessly for the organization and in its beginning years, Kathy single-handedly organized the fundraising events and silent auctions.  Today, she not only contributes financially through her employer, Wells Fargo, but also by contributing silent auction donations, recruiting volunteers and securing corporate sponsorships.  Kathy is the personification of a volunteer Board member with the selfless dedication of her time and resources that allows us to help the disabled gain mobility.
